Types of Headache and their treatments

    Have you ever had a headache? Yes! I was sure that in whole life everyone had headaches. But a little people become curious to know about headaches, why these headaches happen and how to treat these head pains. In this blog post we’ll have a thorough writing about theses headaches. What is Headache?

                Before start our all blog at first we’ll discuss what is headache? To answer this quiz I can say in simple word that pain that teases our head is called headache. Medical science has divided headaches into two main categories according to which our head can face pain without being caused by any severing diseases or with some disease. Headaches are divided into

Ø  Primary headaches

  In this category of headaches Doctors have put all the headaches that occur without and disease or body health issues. It could be due to some stress, Pressure of work, routine disturbance, etc. these headaches are not more dangerous but very paining. In this category of headaches pain does not disturbs mental functionality.

Ø  Secondary headaches

 In this category of headaches medicine has compiled all the head aches that are due to some serious disease.

After Doctors have categorized headaches into primary and secondary the main category to talk about is Primary which is not correlated with any disease. This category has the following types of headaches.

v  Migraine

   Migraine headaches is a very general type of headaches in now a days. Migraine in general occurs in one side of head it could be either left or right. In most cases this headache has stay period of 2 hours in less and 72 hours in maximum. Migraine is known as genetic pain that is not due to any pressure work or change in routine. The person having this pain can feel Nausea or vomiting, In Migraine the person may face issues with light and sound. In this type of headaches a throbbing pain happens in head. In most cases migraine may cause all types of headaches.

 

v  Cluster Headache:


    Cluster type of headache is a pain that is not easy to find out. It appear in one side of head. This type of headache may be caused in flue, stuffy nose, enlarged pupil or dropping eyes. This type of headache is short timed pain that may remain 20 minutes to 2 hours. Cluster headache may appear several times in a day.

v  Tension Headache:

    This type of headaches is known as “Hatband” type of headaches because when this pain occurs then it feels like a very tight hat is kept on head which has tightened the head. Tis is after migraine common type of headache. In this type of headache back of head or forehead gets affected. This type of head pain may remain for hours. This type of headache often occurs due to pressure of work or change in routine.

 

v  Hypnic Headache:

    This type of Headache is known as headache for aged persons as it appears in people who are aged between 40 to 80 years. The solo of this headache is that this occurs in specific time especially at night and could stay for 1 hour. Physical therapy may in some cases relax this pain.

Identifying these types of headaches is practice that shall lead to easily treat these types of headaches. At first figure out that this headache is Primary or secondary. If headaches is secondary category than it is related with big and serious disease that is why focus on that disease but if headache is from primary category then try to find out the trigger of these types of headaches.

To identify these types keep in mind answers for the following questions.

How frequent Headache occurs?

What severity this headache has?

What is exact location of headache?

Treatment for Migraine headache:

Migraine is the most common headaches that appear often. This brings very severe pain. This type of headaches can be treated by common modification in lifestyle and every day routine. To get immediate relief try following practices;

      • chose a dark room and rest.

Treatment for Cluster Headache:

This type of headaches is a short timed pain that could appear with very strong affects and lasts for up to 1 hour. This type of headache may be due to flu, droopy eyes, Stuffy nose or in some case sleeping disorder. Treating this type of headache, following may help;

Treatment for Tension Headache:

Treatment for Hypnic Headache:

    This type of headache is a pain that appears in most cases at night and it comes in routine and can last for up to 2 hours. This type of headache can be relieved by the following items;

      • Calcium: That maintains oxygen level in blood.
      • Lithium:
